God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plans His footsteps in the sea,
and rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
of never failing skill,
He treasures up His bright designs
and works His sovereign will.
~Hymn and Lyrics by William Cowper
William Cowper, author of this amazing hymn, “God Works in Mysterious Ways His Wonders to Perform,” battled depression and at one point even planned to commit suicide by drowning. He called a cab to deliver him to the Thames bridge. As they drove, a fog rolled in that was so thick they could not find their way. Finally, the taxi driver pulled over and Cowper got out of the taxi. To his surprise, he was right in front of his own home. Cowper firmly believed God sent the fog to prevent his intended suicide.
God moves in mysterious ways indeed.

Awesome story. What was probably an annoyance to others at the time, saved a man's life.
