Over the past decade of daily prayer, I’ve often wondered that God has never sounded the alarm in my heart instructing us to stockpile, build a stronghold or otherwise prepare for tribulation. This morning, He spoke of the coming shaking but it was in an entirely different tone.
For some time now I’ve been praying about and grappling with the deeper meaning behind Jesus’ miracles. Of course there’s the obvious: Jesus heals. But I just knew there was a deeper application to His miracles since that’s the way God works. Nothing is ever wasted.
I admit, it’s a blow to faith when God moves in a powerful way yet the ones for whom you prayed still deal with hellish circumstances.
I would call it “Prayer for Dummies” but prayer is the smartest decision we can make.
This is just a template. God loves our uniqueness and is creative so go with His flow. Like snowflakes or fingerprints, no two prayer times are identical.
Had an interesting conversation with my favorite 80 year-old Catholic priest this morning. Normally he is lively and teasing. Today he still teased but he moved a bit slower and the smiles didn’t reach his eyes, eyes filled with sadness. I didn’t even have to ask if he’d seen the news.
God has to stretch my limited viewpoint, and often He uses dreams to do this. Take my ability to intercede for those who seem to have it all. I guess it was time for some stretching.
