Why Did I Write an Equal-Opportunity Offender?

Because God told me to.

There, I said it.

When the revelations in morning-prayer time began to roll in July of 2007, I didn’t even have a novel in mind. In fact, it was taking away from the time I usually spent writing novels. Furthermore, I didn’t think I’d be able to tell anyone about the crazy thoughts that were making scripture light up like a switchboard.

But how could I keep truths to myself that were causing me to fall crazily in love with God even as they underscored the absolute necessity of the blood of Christ for access to God? This was not some attempt to write something controversial in order to gain attention. In fact, many tears were shed grappling with the fear of turning people off .

But the passion for God continued to stretch my puny brain and heart. It was time to dive into the deep and let the chips fall where they may.
