At our book launch for THE FALL a few weeks ago, I was given the coolest surprise.  Andrea Hammond, sweet friend and super-talented musician/singer/songwriter extraordinaire belted out a song she had written for lil’ ol’ me!
Over the past couple years, Andrea and I would run into each other at those crucial moments when a bit of encouragement from a friend is just the ticket.  At the book launch, this fun, bluesy song–served up by the amazing quick-study crew of Andrea, Monique Donnelly, Dan Franklin, Clayton Boek and my wonder-hubby–put me over the edge of gratitude overload!

Hopefully someday soon we can add the audio of Andrea beltin’ it out.
Thank you so much, Andrea!  Keep on lightin’ up the world!

Andrea and me Blues for ChanaGirl You’ve Got a Lot to Say

No one could tell you which road to drive
No one could tell you which story to write
You search for truth and meaning in the darkest of nights
So we could do the reading in the morning light

Girl, you’ve got a lot to say
You’ve got a lot of words in your brain
Could drive a woman insane!

Mornin’ after mornin’, day after day
Sheddin’ those words, turning a phrase
Before the rooster’d crow at 5 o’clock
You’d be in Starbucks parking lot!

I said, Girl, you’ve got a lot to say
You’ve got a lot of words in your brain
Could drive a woman insane!

When a dreams worth dreamin’ the chase is nothin’ small
Then you start believin’ you can have it all!

Girl you’ve got a lot to say
You’ve got a lot of words in your brain
Could drive a woman insane!
